Today, in honor of the upcoming new year, we are doing something special! We are doing an unboxing video of the new PS Vita video game Corpse Party: Blood Drive. We don't do Terror Videos very often anymore but feel we should do them on occasion when we have something special to show off!

WitchWorks is growing and changing, and 2016 is going to be a groundbreaking year for the company. Starting January 1st, 2016, WitchWorks Magazone will be absorbing Splatter Chronicles Publishing into one company. Additionally, A Slice of Horror.com will officially becomes a sister website under the supervision and support of WitchWorks Magazine. WitchWorks will then become a multifaceted business specializing in print magazine issues, FREE e-zine issues, monthly serial novellas, and special edition anthologies. WitchWorks Magazine's main focues is on publishing stories akin to the controversial (and often banned) pulp horror stories and comic books of the 1940s and 1950s. We will strive to emulate this style of pulp fiction in all of our new, upcoming releases:
If you have read any of our previous quarterly issues you can also expect a few changes. We are updating our printing process to fit with a smaller more pulp-like style. Instead of our previous 6x9 glossy cover magazine we will be moving to a 5x8 trim with a mat cover. We are also scaling back our usual full page style art and looking more into pen and ink art that emulates the style of pulp and comic art of the time period. In addition to our main goal of recapturing the essence of 1940 and 50s horror fiction we also have two other secondary company goals. The first goal is the resurrection of short form fiction. With the advent of e-readers it is becoming easier and more popular to publish short fiction. Novelettes, Novellas, and Short Stories will be our specialty. We will strive to bring these types story formats to you in both print and e-book. The father of horror fiction, Edgar Alan Poe, believed in brevity in fiction, and so do we. Our other goal is to help new authors, artists, and editors to get a foot in the door in the world of publishing. While it may be difficult to find publication with larger magazines and publishers, we strive to work with aspiring authors, artists, and editors who are looking to get a publication or two under their belt before submitting to larger companies. Meanwhile, A Slice of Horror will also be stepping up its game. Each month, when there isn't a special marathon, A Slice of Horror will do one "Company Spotlight" article where we look at a publisher, film company, mystery box, etc. When possible we will include interviews, guests posts, promotions, and product reviews from each company! So make sure to spend 2016 with WitchWorks Magazine and A Slice of Horror! We have many changes and updates coming your way. We hope to treat you to some truly disturbing and amazing horror fiction throughout this next year. Follow WitchWorks on Facebook and Twitter for the newest updates, releases, and calls for submissions! |
