If it takes place at a camp site, in a cabin, in the woods, or on a hiking trip we will consider reviewing it during this annual marathon! If there is one thing we love more than a good old fashion slasher story, it's a slasher that takes place in the woods!
During last year's marathon we reviewed many well known and popular horror titles for the marathon (specifically Friday the 13th parts 1 and 2). This year, thanks to our new connections with multiple indie movie companies and authors, we will be focusing on new and lesser known camp themed horror movies, books, and merchandise!
We will also be reviewing a few different books--encompassing children's fiction, young adult fiction, and adult fiction. Tentative titles include The Curse of Camp Cold Lake by R.L. Stine, Creature Teacher: The Final Exam also by R.L. Stine, Camp Fear by Carl Ellis, and Bible Camp by Rob Volver.
Additionally, we are still looking for suggestions and submissions for this year's marathon! If you have a movie, a book, a comic, a game, or anything else that could fit into the "summer camp" horror theme, please feel free to submit it for review and/or promotion! Submissions and queries should be sent to us either through our contact page or e-mailed directly to the editor.
So make sure to stay tuned to A Slice of Horror during July for all new reviews, news, and promotions about "Summer Camp" themed horror stories, books, movies, games, etc.
(Our current review and promotion schedule is tentative and subject to change depending on availability, relevance, and product priority. Again, if you would like your book or movie considered for the schedule please don't hesitate to contact us via e-mail.)
