That's right. The Ed Wood B-movie classic Plan 9 From Outer Space has been remade and is set to come out later this year as a direct-to-dvd/direct-to-streaming feature. For fans of cult cinema and B-horror this is a big deal.
I have loved B-horror movies since I was a kid and still to this day can't get enough of them. But what happens when a company tries to make a bigger budget remake of a ultimately low-budget cult classic? I know I have my worries. But I also have my hopes for this movie as well.
Just from looking at the newly released trailer (which you can view below) it is apparent that the story diverges greatly from the original. However, will this re-imagining do the original justice? And will it stand on its own independently of the original film?
What do you think? Will this movie be an awesome homage to Ed Wood's film, or will it simply be another cash-in flop?
